Mark C. Collins
In 1987, Mark Collins received his Business Administration Degree from Cornell University, an Ivy League School. Next he graduated with a two year MBA Diploma from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and in 1992, received his law degree from Capital Law School in Columbus, Ohio.
From 1993 to 1996, he was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office. In that position, Mark handled a wide variety of cases ranging from Juvenile Court to capital offenses. While at the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office, he presented over 5,000 cases to the Grand Jury. With this prosecution experience, he is able to work efficiently with both sides.
In 1996, Mark left the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office to become a defense attorney. His experience includes over 50 successful jury trials ranging from death penalty cases to minor misdemeanor traffic infractions. Mark is Death Penalty certified, has prevented several clients from receiving the death penalty, and does not have any clients on Death Row. He has been involved in many high profile cases, including the Ohio I-270 Serial Shooter. He has a productive working relationship with the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, as well as other counties. He has also represented police officers and teachers across the state of Ohio.
Mark has also lectured and given presentations on various criminal issues, including how to deal with the media in high profile cases.
